Our ‘Aboutness’ indexing service covers works intended for print and electronic publication, such as scholarly and popular works, technical reports, annual reports, art gallery catalogues, websites and databases, with some examples shown at left.

An index is a systematically arranged list of significant items (names, concepts, topics) with locators (such as page numbers or paragraph numbers) indicating where information can be found and the extent of the discussion there. Indexes are reader-focused – with hundreds of entry points an index provides rapid, precise and consistent location of information which is sought.

All indexing work is done by Sherrey, an award-winning Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers Accredited Indexer, whose work conforms to national and international standards.

Ian is a former editor of the Journal of the Australian Library and Information Association. Ian and Sherrey are the current Book Review Editors for that journal.
